Moldovan Chiftele (Flat Meatballs)

  • 1 1lb. Minced meat (pork, beef, lamb or chicken or combination)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ onion minced
  • 1 piece of bread
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped finely
  • 1 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Oil for frying
  1. Place the bread in water to soften it and place all the ingredients except the oil together in a bowl
  2. Mix all the ingredients together
  3. Using a small scoop, make balls in equal size and flatten them.
  4. Repeat until the mixture is used up
  5. Heat a bit of oil in a frying pan on medium heat and fry the meat patties until golden on both sides and cooked through.
  6. Drain on a paper towel and serve warm
