Montenegrin Sopska Salad

  • 20 ripe cherry tomatoes in different colors if you can find them
  • 1 orange bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1/2 lb farmers cheese or sirene cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon apple vinegar


  1. Wash all the vegetables
  2. Get a large bowl to put all the ingredients in.
  3. cut the cherry tomatoes in half or quarters depending on their size
  4. deseed and devein the peppers and cut into bite size pieces
  5. peel the cucumber if desired and cut into bite size pieces
  6. peel the onion and cut into bite size pieces
  7. mix together the olive oil and vinegar and dress the vegetables tossing together lightly
  8. Plate the salad and then add lots of grated or crumbled cheese over the top of each plate
  9. Enjoy!
