  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 small white onion chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste


  • Heat the oil in a fry pan over medium heat.
  • Sauté the onions until soft.
  • Add in the rice and stir so the rice grains become shiny.
  • Add in the water, cover and reduce heat to low, simmer until the water is absorbed and rice is tender.
