Macedonian fruit plate is a wonderful light and refreshing way to end a meal .  Fruits like apples, plums, peaches, nectarines and grapes are all found in Macedonia.  In the warm summer months and after eating some hearty Macedonian food, a nutritious and delicious alternative to a heavier dessert. They have many dessert options in Macedonia like eclairs, baklava, semolina cakes and the list goes on and on. Of course you can use any fruit that you like.  Sometimes it is served with cream or a sugar syrup over the top and sometimes some liquors, we enjoyed just the sweet delight of the fruit themselves. We decorated the plate with fruit in the shape of a sun to represent their beautiful flag.  I think it has won some contests as being one of the prettiest flags in the world.  Enjoy!
