This Dominican Republic Arroz con aguacate is a very simple side dish of simply cooked white rice and avocado slices. These two sides are always served with Sancocho. Most people fight over the crusty rice at the bottom of the pan.

Dominican Republic Sancocho Side Dishes
Servings 8 servings
Ingredients
- 2 cups white rice
- 3 cups water
- 2 tablespoons oil
- salt to taste
- 2 avocados
Instructions
- Rinse rice and drain
- Heat oil and salt in pan slowly add water and rice.
- Bring water and rice to boil, cover and simmer about 20 minutes until tender.
- Add salt to taste scrape up the bottom of the crusty bits on the bottom of the pan.
- Slice avocados and serve with rice.
